Separation Of Clover Seeds

Isolation of clover seeds from a heap
A farmer from the Baltic countries (Lithuania) contacted us with a request to develop a technology for isolating clover seeds from a heap.
For this purpose, we were sent three bags of source material. When we opened the bag, we saw what could be called plant debris. There was no hint of seeds.
But the task itself interested me, especially since clover is a wonderful crop. In addition to its high feed value for animals, clover as a legume leaves behind organic nitrogen in the field, which is produced by nitrogen-fixing bacteria that make their “homes” in nodules on the roots of the plant.
Clover is also a honey plant; clover honey is one of the best. It is transparent, with a delicate aroma and delicate taste. When crystallized, it forms a white solid mass. It is no coincidence that clover flowers are present on the coat of arms of Belarus.
They “obtained” clover seeds from a heap of Fig. 1. We started by selecting debris that was obviously larger than the seeds and obviously smaller than them. It turned out that all the rubbish came off the Fadeev cell sieve. 2.0 mmfig. 2and the fine fraction passed through the Fadeev 0.4 mm sieve. Fig. 3

The clover seeds turned out to be much smaller than the size of the Fadeev 2.0 sieve, so the exit from such a sieve was passed through a Fadeev sieve with a 1.5 mm meshfig. 4for maximum selection of sticks and litter Fig. 5.

And now, after passing through a 1.5 sieve in the rubbish mixture, the clover seeds became clearly visible Fig. 4. The further task turned out to be simple - since in this mixtures, clover seeds are significantly heavier than small plant litter, then we separated such seeds with high quality on a pneumatic vibrating table further PVSF Fig.7.

If there is a sufficient amount of material, the discharge from the middle of the pneumatic vibration table (after accumulating it in a sufficient volume) must be re-passed through the PVSF and additionally separated clover seeds from this mixture.

We sent the results obtained to Lithuania for the customer to analyze our work.
The customer was satisfied.
